BUCYRUS–Wynford Elementary School, in conjunction with Tonya’s Hair Fashions, held a Spring Haircut Working day.
Forty learners obtained complimentary haircuts from Tonya and her stylist crew. It was a positive and uplifting experience for students whose parents consented to have their child’s hair reduce & styled. Each university student bought all-around 15 minutes of special treatment method.
Upon arrival at 121 W. Warren Street, the students exited the bus, and all 4 stylists (Tonya Lohr, Britney Hill, Danielle Starr, and Kendra Koge) were standing at their chairs, smiling and welcoming the little ones.
Stylists asked every single child if they required a trim or a slash. As hair was traveling, students chatted about their favourite workforce, how outdated they are, or who normally cuts their hair.
A third-grader said, “I am so glad I am heading to get this mop off my head.” His smile positive competed with the sun!
One particular boy requested if he could get a green mohawk. The reply was, “Hop in the chair, and we will see what the stylist can do.”
One more little one stated she preferred a small haircut. The stylist did cut her waistline-extensive hair to shoulder duration.
About halfway as a result of, the lady explained, “I bet my mom will be stunned!” With laughs and giggles all close to, the stylist replied, “Yeah, I hope she likes it!”
All the students were being equipped to see them selves in the big mirror with their new cuts. They were being beaming with delight, pleasure, and gratefulness.
Pupils created notes of thanks and hung them on the stylists’ stations.
These young children received a good deal a lot more than a haircut from their check out to Tonya’s. They just about every received 15 minutes of unique time with a listening, caring stylist, a slice or trim, and tremendous self-self confidence! These college students saw that THEY Matter!
The students rode the bus back to WES with smiles and had been greeted at the doors with extra positive focus through the working day.
About 75 students signed up for a haircut, almost double the selection prepared for. With only 40 spots, about 50 % acquired to make the excursion.
Not only did the pupils obtain one thing that working day, but so did the grownups involved to make it happen. Altruistic people place many others earlier mentioned on their own, as these stylists did, volunteering their time, expertise, and smiles.
Though most kids take pleasure in staying in the spotlight, it is normally owing to making a location on the honor or benefit roll, excellent attendance, or some other pursuits. Something as very simple as a haircut was a spotlight minute in the lives of the students who participated.
